April 15: It's hard to believe school is out in 6 short weeks.  I feel like it was just August.  State testing is approaching and we have been working hard reviewing concepts from the beginning of the year.  We will need nutritious snacks and drinks to help with the kids' energy during this LONG week.  Please let me know what you can bring for the class.  There are 16 students total.  I have a little refrigerator in the room, so if you bring yogurts or cheese I can keep them cold.

Feb. 25:  Reminder-All students will be performing their Oral Language piece on Thursday, Feb. 28th.  This will go towards their language grade.  Also, Bakersfield College Planetarium field trip is on March 5th at 9:30.  We will be leaving campus 8:45.  I am sending home another permission slip tomorrow.

Feb. 12:  We went on our field trip to the BPD today and had a wonderful time!  Thank you Mr. Terry for setting that up for us and thank you to my parent drivers.  The students will be presenting their Oral Language pieces to the class on Feb. 28th, so I really want them working on that the next few weeks.  There will be no memory verse or spelling contract for the next 2 weeks since they are short weeks.  The students will still be having a reading log though.  Thank you to all who are providing treats, plates, etc for our Valentine's Day party.   I appreciate it :)

Jan. 15: Speech Meet is quickly approaching!  Each student selected their oral language piece this morning and received a copy of it.  For the students that have selected poetry and want to compete at Speech Meet, they need to have their piece memorized by Tuesday, Jan. 22nd.  They will be reciting it to me and 2 will be selected to go on to Speech Meet.  Every student must memorize a piece for a grade in Language.  Every student will be presenting their piece to the class on February 28th.  Please work with your child a little every night, so they will be prepared when presenting day comes!
